So today I had to cover for my office-mate Jean, the Meals on Wheels Coordinator, because she went to a wedding in Mass. this weekend. Of course I always plan on things running perfectly smoothly for me when I have to cover for her. Well they pretty much did until 11:00 when I realized that my volunteer driver for one of my routes didn't show up to deliver the meals. So what happens when you have a situation like this when you can't find someone to cover the route at the very last minute? Yep, I had to deliver the route myself. I was a little perturbed becasue I had a lot of other stuff to do and it would take an hour and a half to deliver it myself and I didn't really feel like going, but I had no other choice. Hungry people had to eat. So I got in my car with the meals and drove off. Luckly it was a smaller route people wise, however it is a longer route miliage wise. Whatever, once I got myself going I was fine. It was georgous out and I felt good. So I was about half way done when I had to deliver to someone on Egypt Rd. I mean her house was right on Egypt Rd up the driveway. (I won't even go into detail about this lady).... I delivered the meal and got back in my car and tried to figure out how to get down the driveway and safely back on the road. Egypt Rd is always heavily traffiked even in the middle of the day. Then I got an idea that proves that even moderately intelligent people don't always practice common sense. If you haven't figured out by now the crazy driver I was referring to in the title was myself. The stunt I pulled left me extremly glad I was driving by myself. Word of advice...you are supposed to back out of a narrow driveway, not attempt an 3 pt.-turn! Backing up, I turned the car enough to roll up the hill on the lawn next to the driveway and soon I felt my car wobbling from side to side like when you are in a boat. One front tire on the pavement and the back tire(s) on the hill causing my car to be in a slanted angle. Couldn't move forward. Wouldn't go backwards to go further up the hill. I pictured myself having to call AAA service and being laughed at or scolded for being an idiot. Then it dawned on my how to quickly fix my predicament. I put my car in neutral, slivered out the door and walked behind the car to push it down the hill as much as I could . Then I got back in and pulled forward and it worked. I did not try this stunt again, but instead I just patiently waited for a break in the traffic to put myself back on Egypt Rd. So that's my crazy event of the day. Hope you enjoyed.

Hey
I'm not really upset at this specific car place. I just don't trust any of them in general. They did called me today and "said" my car will be done by today so that is good news. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I also looked at airline tickets today and they are about the same as the other day. It is ok with me to come back the 8th too so let's plan on that. I'll see ya later.
